GRANITE AND MARBLE CARE & MAINTENANCE
In order to maintain the surface of natural stone it requires regular cleaning. For daily cleaning all that is required is a small amount of mild dish soap and warm water. Always thoroughly rinse the surface with clean water to remove residue. There may be permanent damage to the counter if oils and dirt accumulate. If the counter is neglected blotching or staining may occur.All counters may scratch with improper use. Cutting Boards are strongly recommended and will help prolong the life of your knives and counter. Trivets are also recommended for use with any items or small counter appliances that can reach very high temperatures and for resting your pots and pans.
It is important to maintain your counter using appropriate products: Natural Stone Revitalizer is recommended and endorsed by DuPont and sold by Aurivia for this purpose. Use in accordance with the instructions. Aurivia recommends natural stone surfaces are cleaned daily with Revitalizer. Counters with higher usage conditions will require more frequent applications. Heavy Duty Sealer, which when used in accordance with the instructions, will help reduce the difficulty of removing stains.
WARNING!
The use of any chemical or abrasive materials for cleaning natural stone must be avoided. Harsh detergents, washing up liquid, household cleaners, furniture polish and/or solvents such as petrol, gasoline, white spirit or alcohol, should never be used on natural stone. While these products may initially give impressive results, their use will lead to a rapid deterioration of the stone.
